About Me

Welcome to Team Resilience!

My name is Ron Steed. I am the owner of UpScope Consulting Group, LLC. During my service in the United States Navy’s nuclear submarine force, I was an officer on the fast attack submarines USS Narwhal (SSN 671), USS Pittsburgh (SSN 720), and USS Seawolf (SSN 21). I had the honor of commanding the USS Jefferson City (SSN 759) and Submarine Squadron Two. I also served as a senior instructor of the Submarine Command Course, the U.S. Navy's premier, world-class tactics and leadership development course for Commanding Officers.

In 2007, I started UpScope Consulting Group, LLC Much of my work there has centered on developing team resilience and submarine systems, both in the Submarine Force and with commercial partners.

Here are some of the folks who might resonate with this blog:
  • You are a submariner and want to learn more about the Submarine Team Behaviors Tool... a new, very practical framework that can move your tactical teams to new levels of resilience.
  • You serve in a High Reliability Organization and are looking for an innovative way to think about teams.
  • You are in business and are looking for ways other world-class organizations are approaching teamwork.
  • You develop complex systems for teams and need to understand more fully how teams and technology work together.
